The Aerial S1 Column delivers exceptional performance given its relatively modest dimensions. Just 8.5" wide and slightly less than 12" deep, the slender S1 Column is perfect for music and home theater systems where excellent sound quality is desired, but interior or system design factors require a compact loudspeaker system built into the environment. Whether installed in custom cabinetry or mounted on or into a wall, the S1 Column expresses its dynamic personality, remaining clear and lifelike regardless of listening level.
Closely related to the acclaimed Aerial Model 9, the S1 Column shares its sibling’s design pedigree. Four longstroke 7.1" woofer drivers provide greater radiating area than that of a 15" driver, but with far superior control, responsiveness and powerhandling capacity. Twin 6" midrange units combine tonal naturalness with high resolution and low dynamic compression.
Aerial’s exclusive 1" titanium dome tweetersupplies remarkably smooth, clear and extended treble response. The compact sealed enclosure is constructedof 1" MDF with extensiveinternal bracing providing excellent stiffness, lowresonance and freedomfrom cabinet-induced coloration. Response has been optimized for in-cabinet and near-wall locations and to blend particularly well with subwoofers. And finally, a system efficiency of 92dB makes it possible to drive the S1 Column to high output levels without requiring massive power.
In all, the S1 Column discreetly packages the many performance characteristics recognized as hallmarks of Aerial loudspeaker design: pure, natural and lifelike sound, complemented by seemingly boundless dynamics.
